Bronx Zoo Tiger Just Tested Positive for COVID-19
A Malayan tiger name Nadia has tested positive for coronavirus the Bronx Zoo in New York City, and 6 other big cats are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. This is the first case of a wild animal contracting the disease from a person, who was most likely an asymptomatic zookeeper pic.twitter.com/axXVvnKD8j— BFM News (@NewsBFM) April 6, 2020
Oh no....the only silver lining for me throughout this entire pandemic has been that I was the under impression that animals can't get the virus, or it is, at the most, extremely, extremely, extremely rare. Thanks a lot, CDC. Guess that's a lie like everything else in 2020.
Source - “This is the first instance of a tiger being infected with Covid-19,” according to the federal Agriculture Department, which noted that although only one tiger was tested, the virus appeared to have infected other animals as well.
“Several lions and tigers at the zoo showed symptoms of respiratory illness,” according to a statement by the department. They are expected to recover.
Public health officials believe that the large cats caught Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, from a zoo employee.
There is absolutely only one person to blame for this atrocity:
